Problem with my blog

Guys My blog just got “hacked” or spammed with some kind of virus who exchanged my index files. With help of some friends I deleted the files who had been hacked and I think I deleted the virus.

With this virus my blog lost all my top positions on Google and my SE traffic has gone. They say that I will need 3 months to come back on top with my keywords. This was my first experience with viruses or hacked stuff. So I’m really unhappy about that and what can I say “shit happens”.

I will try to work still on this blog and wait this 3 months to come back on Google. I think Google won’t help me if I told him what happened here on my blog.

Be careful guys, I don’t know how this happened but I hope that it won’t happen to you to.

    I’m sorry to hear that mg! I was wondering what was going wrong with your site, because you didn’t post for a long time here. I thought you gave up on writing the blog …

    Sorry MG for the loss in SE keywords, i also had my blog a while back. You need to have strong authentication using complex passwords to prevent such occurrences.

    You need to start using sftp instead of ftp & have to go through a process of having your sites taken off Google’s blocked list. I found this out when I used to use ftp for my sites - never again!

    It really sucks to hear that some people are into ruining others hard work. Try to get more high PR links to get back on track. Get BMD and/or article submitter and work them hard.

    That explains why I couldn’t access your blog the other day. Make sure to always use the latest WP. And try to update your WP-Plugins too. Sometimes hackers use outdated / unupdated WP plugins to hack your blog.

    Hope this thing doesn’t happen to anyone. Glad you’ve got your blog back to normal.

    Yeah i agree, regularly updating the WP fixes helps to patch up defective code.

    my site was dropped to a 3 and it took a month and a half to get back up a notch to only 4 in a month and a half. I was told that it’s my text link ads, now Ihave deleted all of them.

    I’m not sure about PR update. Could it be, that it happens in about three months period? If that’s correct than we should see it sometime in May-June…

    So, PR is calculated on number of links pointing on your site? How many of incoming links do you need to get PR4, PR5, PR6…Do you know perhaps?

    Anyway, Page Rank just updated and it seems that your blog is now at Page Rank 2 instead of 5.

    All this is so scary. I hate if anything of such goes wrong, anyways there is so much work and suddenly these unexpected problems are irritating.

    Thanks guys. I can tell you now that my blog got rankings back, so SE traffic is bigger than ever. Which I’m happy about :)
