Guide to web hosting

Posted by Mg | March 23, 2008 .

I’m using Servage hosting and I’m really not impressed with it. I think I didn’t chose the right host provider, but I will manage to keep it till end. So if you guys are looking for new host provider - web hosting I recommend you to read some guides for web hosting or try to search for other people recommendations for web hosting.

I found a great site where Kaushal Sheth is giving his opinion of web hosting and a kind of guide to web hosting. He had some problems with his host provider as I did and he is ready to chose different host provider. In his post he is sharing some good information on best web hosting company and I think you should check it.

He chose host monster and he is really satisfied with it. This is because he manage to do some researches before buying new host provider, so I recommend you to do that to. Check his post to see more info about it.

For myself, I have stuck with a local web host for quite some time, until some time last year where there is some performance issue with the server.

I emailed their support, the reaction I got from them was totally unsatisfactory.

Changed to a new hosting company, the boss is a personal friend of mine.

Been happy with the hosting performance ever since I moved to the new host. :)

Host Monster doesn’t seem to be all that great either? http://forum.hostingheadaches.com/search.php?query=host+monster+reviews

The website has really informative topics on ISPs and web hosting. Nice read…

Honestly, i hate web hosting review sites. I feel like no one is being honest and has some sort of affiliate link waiting on the next page. The reviews seem to all be biased. Plus not to mention that not one hosting company can say they have 100% uptime and great service. All hosting companies have their problems, but it is how well they manage their servers and how they treat you as a customer. I look for customers that are loyal for years before I can believe your review on a hosting company. I got DreamHost and it was the worst move ever. And to think I got referred by a good friend (except he was on a no-problem file cluster). Thank god I switched and decided to use a vps from Servint. My sites load fast and I am not on one IP with 400 other sites! I just want a good hosting company or at least a powerful unbiased hosting review site that everyone can trust.

Had the same problem with my host but they responded exceptionally well, so i decided to stick with them….for the meantime!

I hope you’re prepared for the consequences of doing sponsored reviews. I wouldn’t risk my PR 5 if I were you. Learn from my mistake. At least Google was good enough to give me a PR 3 after I applied for reconsideration.

    Good luck. :)
