Basic Search Engine Optimizations for your Blog - SEO

Search Engine Optimization is the most important thing when you start new Blog. Many Bloggers don’t know how to start with SEO in basic way. There are a lot of articles about this well known keyword - SEO, but many of them are so long and you read it 10 min and when you come to the end, you forget all what you read, ugh? I will try to make it simple here, writing just the basic steps to SEO optimizing your blog, which has a big value for traffic generation. When you start Blogging you need to know that they key in SEO is the content of your Blog posts and when you reach that, then you should follow this Basic Search Engine Optimizations:

1.Choose the right Keyword for your Blog

  • ask yourself what would you write in Google Search Engine to find specified thing
  • you need to know that for the specified Keyword there are already thousand of sites in Google Search Engine
  • you need to know that choosing most used Keyword, will bring you more hard work to get on top with it (like Keyword SEO, look how many Blogs are already writing about SEO)

So think before you make a Blog and choose the right Keyword for it:

  • smaller is the Keyword worth faster you will come in top of Google Search Engine - lower is the Keyword searched
  • bigger is the Keyword worth slower and harder is you way to get into the top of Google Search Engine - Keyword is more searched and you will definitely get more visitors from it, if you get in top

When you choose the right Keyword for you blog, include it in content:

  • your page title and domain
  • your content and post titles
  • urls, image title, meta tags, pages…

2.Site design and Blog optimization

  • try to make your own theme or optimize other themes, so you optimize it like you think is cool
  • make it simple and try to avoid Flash or Java script
  • make your Blog easy to navigate on, try to avoid Flashy ads
  • include all sites, posts, popular posts, similar posts, recent posts on the first site so Robots will determine them easley
  • ask your self which site looks your like, which plugins helps you to stay more time on the Blog

3.Post and update your Blog regulary

  • Blog is not like some sites, that you make content and then you leave it
  • you need to work on it every day or two, by posting content and updating it
  • comment  on your readers comments
  • try to do things that visitors will come back, write 2-4 posts daily
  • if you go on vacation try to tell them, so they won’t think that you don’t write anymore

4.Optimize your Blog for robots

  • robots track you site often and send info to Search Engine, so make a site just for them how?
  • make Sitemap
  • you can use plugins to create it
  • Sitemap page will include all links to your posts, so the robots can track it faster and faster send info to Search Engines

5.Try to post only quality links

  • you need to know that with posting links on other sites can lower your traffic, why?
  • when your Blogs visitor sees the link, he clicks on it and goes on the link direction and leaves your site
  • so try to post only links that you think that would helps visitors and try to not spam links in every post
  • there are talks that to many Outbounds links from you Blog, can lower your SEO reputation, so try to be careful
  • i’m not sure with this thing, but just try to post normal quantity of links

7.Domain 

  • try to make a domain that will include the Keyword in it, or maybe your own name
  • make your domain simple and not strange to visitors, so they can remember it
  • domains with Keyword in it can help you with SEO, but content is one of the most important
  • longer is the domain registered better is included in Search Engine, so that’s why Bloggers buy used ones that are in Search Engine more linked

8.Content of you Blog

  • try to write unique posts with specified Keyword
  • write content that is specified on post title
  • try to avoid Duplicate content and don’t copy it
  • make a normal length of article around 250 words or more, not to small not to length

9.Submit your site to SE and Ping it

  • help yourself with pingomatic.com
  • submit your site in SE like yahoo

10.Wait, wait, wait time is the biggest key here

  • longer you are writing more inbound links you will have
  • more posts will be lined
  • better you will get listed in SE

    Don’t forget onsite SEO is only 20% of all SEO. Other 80% are links to your site.

    What!? 20%!? HA!
    I think you should document yourself more Marko. Please don’t tell me you’re one of those that follows up on PR, millions of links and etc. Ah
    SEO = A WHOLE world, study it properly.
    Links = 0 if you don’t optimize your site properly.
    Not going to get into details here, too much to say, like, 999 pages :)

    Sorry but i’m not agree about that.
    A few months ago a make a website with a poor inbound links it has a PR = 0. But it show on the top 10 google SERPs in many keywords

    Number 10 is by far the hardest. We all want to write a site or blog, get it indexed in Google and then watch its SERPS go through the roof. If only it was that easy…and quick.
