Use Wordpress anti spam plugin Akismet

Last days I got around 40 spams daily. I was like “WTF, why my plugin doesn’t stop them?”. Then i look in the plugins section and i saw that my Akismet plugin was disabled. I quickly press the ENABLE PLUGIN button, but then i got this error:

“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”
“Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/bla/bla/bla/bla on line 670″

I quickly deleted, and reinstaled the Akismet plugin, and then it worked, but i needed the api key, and i follow this steps to get it:

  • Open www.wordpress.com site, and login with your account
  • On header in the left corner press “My account”>”Edit profile” and then you will see “Your WordPress.com API key is:”, there is the api key, simply copy it and paste it, where the plugin says

The install method is simple, so get protected from stupid spams by installing Akismet plugin!
